Robert is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in the private sector, specializing in agricultural value chains, particularly the tea industry. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology and a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from the Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI). Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Tea Development Agency Limited, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in operations management, investment planning, and the development of robust management systems.
Robert is widely recognized for his expertise in designing and implementing capacity-building programs, fostering innovation in the agricultural sector, and driving sustainable growth through public-private partnerships (PPPs). His commitment to enhancing the private sector’s role in national development has led to significant contributions to various PPP initiatives, spearheading investments and fostering collaboration across industries
A dynamic community leader, Robert serves as the Vice President of the West Nile Foundation and a member of the Board of Trustees for the West Nile Education Trust Fund. He is also an active member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), contributing to political and socio-economic development. His thought leadership has been showcased through themed presentations at numerous international conferences and trainings across countries such as India, the UK, Egypt, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, Tanzania, Ethiopia, the UAE, Canada, and the United States.
