Denis Akankunda DrPH

Denis earned his doctor of public health (Dr.PH) degree in Health Policy Management from the School of Public Health, State University of New York at Albany. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Population and Reproductive Health Research from Mahidol University, Thailand

Dr Bwesigye, worked with Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health as a Deputy Director for a health systems strengthening and an emergency medicine program in Ghana and Rwanda.

He also managed two Centers for Disease Control projects in Nigeria and South Africa related to HIV, maternal and newborn health services. He has authored and co-authored a number of research publications and written news articles on a variety of health topics with the aim of educating and sensitizing general public on a wide range of health topics and also to impact health policy.

Dr. Bwesigye underwent a public speaking course at Zenspeak School in Manhattan, New York where he received coaching from world-renowned communications coach, Mr. Charles-di-Cagno. Considered as one of the best students in Zenspeak School’s history, Dr. Bwesigye envisaged a need to replicate a similar public speaking course in Africa and Uganda in particular, to allow his compatriots an opportunity to receive coaching and advance in their careers. Since course inception to the Ugandan market, over two hundred (200) professionals have been trained and awarded certificates.
